Headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, Rainmaker is a multifaceted animation studio, and is one of Canada's largest producers of CG animation. With an innovative history that spans over 18 years, Rainmaker today continues to tell engaging stories and create compelling characters for all media.
On February 15, 2013, The Weinstein Company released Rainmaker's first theatrical feature film Escape From Planet Earth. A month later it set a box office record for The Weinstein Company, passing Hoodwinked as the top-grossing, domestic Weinstein animated pic.
The animated action-comedy, directed by Cal Brunker, features the voices of Ricky Gervais, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Alba, Brendan Fraser, Rob Corddry, William Shatner, Craig Robinson, Jane Lynch, Sofia Vergara, and George Lopez.
